'Beacon of Hope'

Of all the girls I met
she was truly unique,
but my heart was wandering,
not knowing where to seek.

It had yearned for affection,
but only got hate,
to the point where love
was something it couldn't create.

Though at first it persisted,
it gave up without a fight.
"What's the point in trying?" my heart asked,
"Even with all my might."

It froze with ice
and turned to stone.
Cold and desolate,
and all alone.

Without all hope lost
and with no future in sight,
from the deep darkness of doubt,
there was a light.

A warm light!
A bright light!
The stone was crumbling!
The ice was melting!

She was an angel.
A girl like no other.
My flame of love.
My beacon of hope.

A miracle had occured
I began to love,
A love stronger than anything
Thanks to my angel from above.
